Bismarck Bobcats News Release

The Bismarck Bobcats improved their overall record to 2-4-1 on the season, picking up a possible three out of six points on the weekend.

Friday night at home, the Bobcats dropped a close call at home to the Minnesota Blizzard 4-3. Bismarck was down two goals to the Blizzard in the third period and rallied to bring it within a single goal. That is the third game of the young season that the Bobcats have lost by only a goal.

Saturday night was a different story. Bismarck got a tremendous performance from Aaron Walski in the net, holding the Jets scoreless for the first 54 minutes of the game, winning 2-1 on the road. Twin brothers Richard and Robert Huna accounted for all the scoring in the game, with each brother notching one goal and one assist. Both wins Bismarck has on the season have been at Fargo-Moorhead.

Sunday afternoon, Bismarck once again played a nip-and-tuck game at Minnesota, losing in a shoot-out 3-2. Once again, the Huna brothers were responsible for all the scoring, each of them lighting the lamp once. In games decided by shoot-outs, the Cats have yet to win a game, settling for the tie in each contest.

Bismarck heads to the NAHL Junior Hockey Showcase with high expectations, and will face three EJHL Junior Teams, along with NAHL South Division foe Wichita Falls, TX.
