Hershey Bears News Release
(Hershey, PA) - The Hershey Bears announced today that Hummelstown, PA native Dillan Fox has been invited to the team's 2019 Training Camp. The forward will take the ice for the Chocolate and White on Monday as the team opens camp at Giant Center at 10:30 a.m.
Fox, 28, joins his hometown Bears from the ECHL's Maine Mariners where he struck for 26 points (16 goals, 10 assists) in 37 games last season. The Lower Dauphin product opened last year with the Southern Professional Hockey League's Roanoke Rail Yard Dogs, tallying 16 points (seven goals, nine assists) in 24 games before earning the promotion to the ECHL in January. His strong play with the Mariners helped him finish third on the team in goals, and earn an ECHL contract for the 2019-20 season.
The former Central Penn Panther has played the majority of his professional career in the SPHL, appearing in 110 career games with Mississippi and Roanoke, scoring 87 points (46 goals, 41 assists). His first call-up to the ECHL came during the 2017-18 season when Fox joined the nearby Reading Royals. Upon his return to the Keystone State, Fox collected three points (one goal, two assists) in 10 games for the Royals, scoring his first ECHL goal on Jan. 14, 2018 at Manchester.
Before turning professional, Fox played four seasons at NCAA DIII Plattsburgh State, scoring 76 points (30 goals, 46 assists) in his collegiate career.
The Bears open the 2019-20 regular season on Saturday, Oct. 5 versus the rival Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. The puck drops at 7 p.m. at Giant Center. Tickets to all Hershey Bears home games are on sale now at the Giant Center Box Office, or online via Ticketmaster.
