Houston Dynamo Trade Chris Seitz to D.C. United

CHICAGO - The Houston Dynamo announced that goalkeeper Chris Seitz has been traded to D.C. United, finalizing a trade that was announced earlier today in which the Dynamo acquired the 33rd overall pick in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft presented by adidas.

Seitz started in nine games for the Dynamo across all competitions in 2018, finishing with three clean sheets.

"Chris is a top professional on-and-off the field and we appreciate everything he has done for the club since joining us," said Dynamo Senior Vice President and General Manager Matt Jordan. "We wish him nothing but the best in moving forward."

D.C. United acquired the second-round pick and additional considerations from the New England Revolution earlier today in exchange for their natural second-round pick in the 2020 MLS SuperDraft.

The Dynamo selected defender Andrew Samuels from the University of Maryland with the 33rd overall selection in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft.

TRANSACTION: The Houston Dynamo traded goalkeeper Chris Seitz to D.C. United for the No. 33 overall selection in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft, which was used to select defender Andrew Samuels.
