Hot Start Gives Wolves Third Straight Victory in Win over Blue

Oklahoma City, Okla. - The Iowa Wolves (3-5) posted a season-high point total in a 123-115 victory over the Oklahoma City Blue (6-2) Friday afternoon at the Cox Convention Center.

The Wolves have won their last three games, including two on the road, after beginning the season 0-5.

Iowa took control from the opening tip, beginning the game on an 8-0 run and never looked back, leading the game for its entirety. The Wolves outscored the Blue 32-16 in the first quarter.

NBA veteran Hakim Warrick finished with his second-consecutive 20-plus game, posting 20 points, a team-high eight rebounds and team-high seven assists while coming off the bench for Iowa. Warrick shot 5-of-8 from the floor and 10-of-12 from the free throw line.

The Wolves are now 3-0 in games the Syracuse alum scores 19 or more points.

As a team the Wolves shot a season-high 58.3% from the floor and made a season-high 14 three-pointers (42.2%).

Minnesota Timberwolves assignee Keita Bates-Diop finished with 20 points in his second NBA G League game this season. The former Ohio State Buckeye added six rebounds and two assists in 30 minutes of action.

Canyon Barry shot a perfect 5-of-5, including 3-of-3 from deep in a 15-point effort with the second unit.

Iowa's bench outscored the opposition 59-27 in today's contest while shooting 67.9% from the floor.

Two-way center Tyler Davis controlled the inside for the Blue, posting 25 points and 21 rebounds in the losing effort. Guard Abdul Gaddy posted a season-high 21 points and game-high 14 assists for Oklahoma City.

Iowa travels to Rio Grande Valley to play their second game in as many days against the Vipers on Friday, Nov. 24 at 7:00 p.m. CT.
