Bowling Green, KY - The Hot Rods return from the road to welcome two Western Division teams to town for a six-game homestand, starting on Wednesday. The first three games are against the Kane County Cougars, Class A Affiliate of the Kansas City Royals. Below is a listing of the exciting events, promotions, and activities at Bowling Green Ballpark for this three-game series with Kane County from Wednesday, July 18 to Friday, July 20.
Wednesday, July 18 - 7:05 PM vs. Kane County Cougars
Denny McLain in attendance - the last Major League pitcher to win 30 games will be signing autographs for FREE during the game
Thursday, July 19 - 7:05 PM vs. Kane County Cougars
Thrifty Thursday - $2 food and drink specials for all fans
National Corvette Homecoming - Corvettes will be featured in a pregame parade
Friday, July 20 - 7:05 PM vs. Kane County Cougars
Matt Moore Bobbleheads presented by Coca-Cola - commemorate the first Hot Rod to reach the Major Leagues with his likeness displayed on a bobblehead doll; the first 1,000 fans through the gates receive a bobblehead
Kane County Cougars Team Notes
Fifth Third Bank Ballpark, the Cougars home stadium, hosted the 2012 Midwest League All-Star game.
The Cougars call Geneva, IL, home, which is about 30 miles west of Chicago.
Oakland Athletics affiliates from 2003-2010, the Cougars have been Kansas City Royals affiliates since 2011
Josh Beckett and Dontrelle Willis both played in Kane County in the early 2000's when the Cougars were Marlins affiliates
