Bandits Photo Jersey Squares Available for Purchase

DAVENPORT, Iowa (JULY 17, 2012) - The Quad Cities River Bandits are offering fans the chance to purchase and put their photographs in small squares in the team's jersey numbers for the first-ever U.S. professional sports photo jersey auction. The River Bandits will wear the photo jerseys on Cancer Awareness Night, presented by Genesis and KWQC Aug. 10. All of the proceeds of the square purchases and jersey auction following the game will benefit local cancer organizations.

"River Bandits fans have an incredible opportunity to be part of history, make a special memory for a loved one and contribute to the fight against cancer right here in the Quad Cities," said River Bandits owner Dave Heller. "The photo jerseys will make a highlight of the River Bandits season a historic night for all of U.S. professional sports and cancer awareness."

At $25 per square, fans can purchase a space in the River Bandits' jersey numbers to feature a photograph of themselves, a family member or friend. With the jerseys being worn on Cancer Awareness Night to benefit local cancer organizations, fans can choose to purchase a square for a loved one who has been affected by cancer. A limited number of squares are available, and each square comes with a certificate of purchase.

All of the money raised from the purchase of squares and the jersey auction will go to Genesis Foundations, Susan G. Komen For The Cure Quad Cities Affiliate, and Gilda's Club Quad Cities.

"Each of the annual River Bandits jersey auctions is a unique way to support charitable organizations in the Quad Cities community," said River Bandits General Manager Stefanie Brown. "The best part of the photo jersey promotion is that so many people can contribute and be impacted by a historic night for a great cause."
