Bowling Green Hot Rods News Release

Bowling Green, Ky. - In conjunction with the Midwest League, the Bowling Green Hot Rods have unveiled their 2016 season schedule, which will mark the eighth year of the Hot Rods in the Commonwealth and the seventh year as a member of the Midwest League since 2010.

"We are tremendously excited for the eighth season of Hot Rods baseball here in Bowling Green," said Hot Rods' general manager/COO Adam Nuse. "The opportunity to showcase some of the best talent in the Rays' organization and the Midwest League right in our own backyard is a yearly thrill."

Bowling Green sees its season begin with a four game home-and-home with the Dayton Dragons, commencing at Bowling Green Ballpark on Thurs., April 7 with the series shifting to the Gem City on Sat., April 9. The Hot Rods face South Bend twice in the month of April - both in Indiana - and the month wraps up with a six-game homestand against Clinton and Kane County of the Western Division from April 26 to May 1, before venturing out to Peoria and Burlington from May 2 to May 7 to open the second month of the season.

As May progresses, the Hot Rods will host two seven-game homestands that month and a season-long nine-game homestand from June 7-15, when Fort Wayne, South Bend and Lake County come to BG Ballpark. Both May and June end on the road, with trips to Lake County and Lansing (May 1 to June 5) and a four-game series in West Michigan followed by a three-game set in Great Lakes (June 27 to July 3).

Cedar Rapids hosts the 2016 Midwest League All-Star Game at Veterans Memorial Stadium, with the 2016 All-Star Break marked off for June 20-22.

In July, Western Division play reignites, as Bowling Green hosts Wisconsin and Beloit for the second straight year (July 13-18) and will once again travel to Cedar Rapids and Quad Cities to wrap up inter-division play (July 20-25).

The regular season comes to a close with a three-game home series against Fort Wayne on Sept. 3-5.

Bowling Green has no road trip lasting longer than seven days (three times) and with the exception of a nine-game homestand in June, the longest homestand the Hot Rods will contest is also seven (three times).

Season ticket packages are now on sale for the 2016 season by calling (270) 901-2121 or by visiting www.BGHotRods.com.
