Savannah, GA - This Saturday, April 24, the Savannah Sand Gnats will partner with Hosea Feed the Hungry and Homeless and the Southern Christian Leadership Conference to provide free meals and health screenings for all of those in need.

The Gnats invite all of the volunteers and recipients to stay for the evening's ballgame thanks to tickets generously provided by Paula Deen Enterprises. Saturday evening, the Gnats take on the Hickory Crawdads at 6:05, with live music pre-game presented by Live Wire Music Hall at 4:30 and postgame fireworks presented by KIX96.

"Hunger is an epidemic in America, and we as an organization are honored to be able to help Hosea and the SCLC address this crisis in our community," said Gnats team president John Katz. "Over 37 million Americans live in poverty and locally, according to America's Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia, 1 in 6 children are at risk of going hungry each month."
