San Antonio Missions News Release
San Antonio - The Missions ended the night with a 4 - 0 win over the Corpus Christi Hooks at Nelson Wolff Stadium. San Antonio is now 43 - 19 and have beaten the hooks six games in a row at Wolff Stadium.
The night started off slowly for both teams with the first run in the bottom of the second with a sacrifice fly from Anthony Contreras to plate Vince Belnome. The Hooks struggled defensively throughout the game walking ten Missions players and allowing six hits. Corpus Christi this season has not been able to take a lead while playing in San Antonio.
The Missions were able to take a four run lead in the bottom of the sixth when Eddie Kunz, Blake Tekotte, and Beamer Weems were all walked to load the bases. A single from James Darnell and a two run double from Sawyer Carroll put San Antonio ahead of Corpus for the rest of the evening. Erik Hamren closed out the top of the ninth striking out the side to secure the victory.
Game three of the series continues tomorrow evening at 7:05 p.m.
