WE'RE GOING STREAKING - With last's night 13-inning, 1-0 win over the Midland RockHounds, the Hooks have now won a franchise-high eight straight games. The Hooks will look to remain in control of the Texas League Southern Division, and add to the winning streak, when they head to San Antonio today for a five game series against the Missions. Shortstop Ben Zobrist currently sits on a nine game hitting streak, batting .452 over the stretch. HIGH SCHOOL PLAYOFFS AT WF - With the Hooks on the road, Whataburger Field will be hosting some great high school baseball this weekend starting Thursday night when Gregory-Portland takes on Robstown at 7:00 pm. On Friday night, Corpus Christi Ray will battle it out against San Antonio Reagan at 7:00 pm, and on Saturday the Moody Trojans will take on Smithson Valley at 4:00 pm. SCHOOL'S OUT BALLPARK BLAST - Thanks to the good folks at Reliant Energy, around 4,000 fifth grade students in the Coastal Bend area will be on hand on watch the Corpus Christi Hooks take on the Wichita Wranglers on Wednesday, May 24th.
Reliant Energy and the Corpus Christi Hooks have teamed up for this special day they are calling the School's Out Ballpark Blast as a way of congratulating those students who have completed their academic goals and who will graduate to middle school.
