SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Despite a five-RBI night from Destin Hood, the Frisco RoughRiders, the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, fell 9-8 to the Springfield Cardinals Friday at Hammons Field.
BIG MOMENTS
* Hood hit a three-run homer in the fourth and added a two-run double in the sixth, falling one shy of his career-high in RBIs.
* Michael De Leon put the Riders ahead 4-3 with a solo homer in the fifth.
* Springfield's Johan Mieses hit a go-ahead, two-run homer in the eighth to put the Cardinals ahead for good.
KEY RIDERS PERFORMERS
* Destin Hood: 2-for-4, 2B, HR, 5 RBI
* Michael De Leon: 2-for-4, HR, RBI, BB
* Luis Yander La O: 2-for-2, 2 BB, 2 R
NEWS AND NOTES
* De Leon's homer was his third of the year, surpassing his total from all of last year (2).
* Reliever Ryne Slack recorded his 100th-career appearance with the Riders Friday, fourth-most in team history.
