Dylan Nelson (San Mateo) made his first start of the summer for the Honkers and pitched extremely well over 7.0 innings. Nelson gave up just two runs to one of the top-hitting teams in the entire Northwoods League on six hits and eight strikeouts. With the win, Nelson improves his record to 1-2.
The Honkers trailed 2-1 in the top of the eighth when centerfielder Dakota Smith (Kansas) reached on a hit by pitch and scored on a Justin Parr (Illinois) two-run homerun. Justin Parr went 3 for 5 in the ballgame with two RBIs.
