
Hometown Hockey Highlights IceCaps' Busy February

St. John's IceCaps News Release
The St. John's IceCaps kick off a busy month on Friday afternoon with a Rogers Hometown Hockey Tour school rally featuring Buddy the Puffin.
Buddy will visit St. Teresa's School, Mundy Pond at 1 p.m. to celebrate the start of The Rogers Hometown Hockey Tour weekend in St. John's, Saturday and Sunday. The free, hockey-themed weekend will feature several interactive games, activities and live entertainment for the whole family.
The two-day hockey celebration gets underway Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. at Quidi Vidi (Carnell Drive at Lake Avenue) and continues Sunday at 2 p.m. through the end of the Rogers Hometown Hockey outdoor viewing party featuring the Montreal Canadiens vs. Boston Bruins, 8:30 p.m. on Sportsnet.
Four members of the IceCaps hockey team will join Buddy and the IceCaps Game Crew from 3-4 p.m. on Sunday to share in the celebrations.
Buddy will also attend the Mount Pearl Frosty Festival Children's Party at noon, Saturday and the Holyrood WinterFest Hockey Day at 12:30 p.m., Sunday. Later in the month (Sunday, February 22nd at 1 p.m.), Buddy will visit members of the local minor hockey initiation program at Mile One Centre.
IceCaps players will also be making various public appearances and school visits throughout the month. Details will be announced at a later date.
Of course, the IceCaps will be busy on the ice as well, as they launch a six-game homestand 7:30 p.m., Friday vs. the Portland Pirates as part of the Eimskip Port-to-Port Challenge Cup.
