Annual IceCaps FanFest Slated for March 8th
February 3, 2015 - American Hockey League (AHL)
St. John's IceCaps News Release
The St. John's IceCaps will host their third annual FanFest Sunday, March 8th, from 1-3:30 p.m. at Mile One Centre.
Fans will have a chance to meet all the IceCaps players, who will be on-hand to sign autographs, pose for pictures and chat. Returning once again is the raffle, which will feature authentic autographed items from NHL teams, individual players and various IceCaps items.
Children can enjoy the bouncy castle, kids' zone, balloon artists and countless other activities like face painting and hockey target shooting. Other attractions include a silent auction, Buddy the Puffin and further highlights to be announced via social media leading up to the event. IceCaps Alley team store will also be open during the event with special deals and promotions.
"The IceCaps strive to put our fans first in everything we do because the support they provide us is the envy of just about every team in the American Hockey League," said IceCaps CEO and President Danny Williams. "Our annual FanFest is an opportunity for our organization, and specifically our players, to thank them. I know the players look forward to this event every year."
Admission is free for season-ticket holders (and up to three guests), $5 for a single ticket and $10 for a family pass (up to four people). All tickets are available at the door. Season ticket holders are asked to bring their season ticket holder ID card or other proof of identification to enter. Fans are encouraged to bring used sports equipment to donate to youth sports organizations throughout the province.
Proceeds from the event will go to IceCaps Care and the Williams Family Foundation, which have provided more than $2 million in financial and in-kind donations to charitable organizations, province-wide, over the past three-and-a-half seasons.
The IceCaps begin a six-game home stand this weekend with Friday and Saturday matchups versus the Portland Pirates. Catch all the action live on Rogers TV beginning at 7:30 p.m. NT, and listen live at www.stjohnsicecaps.com and 930 AM. All games are also available to stream online at www.ahllive.com.
