Rockford RiverHawks News Release
LOVES PARK, Ill. - Fans have the opportunity to save money, get baseball cards, support a charity and meet a National Hockey League player this week during the Rockford RiverHawks' six-game homestand.
The RiverHawks open the homestand with 7:05 p.m. games against Washington Tuesday through Thursday. Florence plays the RiverHawks at 7:05 p.m. Friday, 6:05 p.m. Saturday and 4:05 p.m. Sunday.
The homestand starts on Two-For Tuesday. Tickets are two for the price of one, and so are hot dogs.
Wednesday is another Family Value Night. Families can get four tickets, four hot dogs and four soft drinks for $40. Parents have another option - Wednesday is also a "Kids Eat Free" Night - when the child is accompanied by a parent.
Thursday is another installment of the Miller Lite/104.9 - the X Dollar Beer Night. It's also Rockford Chamber of Commerce Night. All chamber members receive a discount with advance purchase.
The FatWallet.com Friday Night Fireworks series continues this weekend. In addition, Members Alliance Credit Union sponsors RiverHawks Window Cling Night. Each fan will receive a RiverHawks static logo cling.
The RiverHawks will play Saturday's game in alternate jerseys inspired by the Chicago Blackhawks' Winter Classic uniforms. The jerseys will be auctioned following the game in the RiverHawks' annual Muscular Dystrophy benefit. The Blackhawks' Jack Skille, a former Rockford IceHog, will be in attendance and be available for autographs.
The homestand wraps up Sunday with a perennial favorite - the annual Crunchmaster RiverHawks Baseball Card Day. Each of the first 1,000 fans will receive a 2009 RiverHawks team set, courtesy of Crunchmaster. Players will be available for autographs following the game. In addition, it's Q98.5 Family Day, when kids can run the bases after the game. It's also Freeport Day.
The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league in its 17th season. Advertising and ticket information is available by calling (815) 885-2255. Fans can also visit the RiverHawks online at www.rockfordriverhawks.com. Most games are broadcast live on ESPN 1380, and on the team website.
