Asheville Tourists News Release

Asheville, NC-- Even though the Asheville Tourists finished their Homestand with an 11-1 loss to the Greenville Drive on Tuesday morning, the Tourists are feeling pretty good heading into Wednesday's off-day. Asheville finished the homestand 5-2 by winning two of three over Lexington and taking three of four from Greenville.

On Tuesday, there was not much to cheer about. The Drive put together a huge two-out rally in the top of the second netting five runs. Greenville added a sixth run in the third and led 6-0 before the Tourists finally cracked the scoreboard in the fifth. Correlle Prime squared up a fastball and drove his eighth Home Run of the season over the left field wall.

Greenville countered with three runs in the sixth to go ahead 9-1 and added a pair of runs in the ninth for some extra insurance. Asheville finished with a season low three hits in the game; two of which came from Prime.

The game did have a few interesting turns as for the second day in a row both teams were issued a warning by the umpires. Forrestt Allday was tossed for arguing balls and strikes, and the Drive also had their pitcher bat twice in the game.

Daniel McGrath was nearly unhittable for the visitors as he tossed six innings of one hit baseball.

The bottom third of the Drive's order consisting of Jimmy Rider, Bo Greenwell, and Zach Kapstein, combined for eight hits and seven runs.

After the off day, the Tourists head to Hagerstown on Thursday night to face the Suns.

Hagerstown has the South Atlantic League's best record at 31-12.
