CHARLESTON, SC - Enjoy a unique opportunity to sample some of the finest craft beers at "Bark for Your Brew," a dog-friendly, craft beer tasting.
Bark for Brew is set for Sunday, June 1, at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park at 3 pm prior to the RiverDogs' Dog Day Game scheduled against the Asheville Tourists (first pitch is 5:05 pm).
Bring your wing dog and sample fine beers from Coastal Empire, Holy City, Oskar Blues, Founders, Brooklyn, Sweetwater, Magic Hat, Shiner Bock, Terrapin and Frothy Beard. An assortment of ales will be available to quench the taste buds of every craft beer enthusiast.
As a highlight, there will be booths for dogs and their owners including Raising Cane's, who will have dog bandanas and a pet photo shoot, and Orangetheory Fitness and Natural Balance, who will give away dog food samples. Patrons can also visit Carolina Coonhound Rescue and Rescue Charleston and Pet Helpers, who will be on site with adoptable dogs.
New this year is the Wet RiverDog Photo Contest. People can submit pictures of their wet dogs through the WXLY 102.5 website (www.y1025.com). Finalists will be invited to "Bark for Your Brew" where fans will choose their favorite photo.
"Bark for Your Brew" benefits Canines for Service which is a national program that provides Veterans with disabilities a quality trained service dog. The program works with military prisoners at the Naval Consolidated Brig Charleston and teaches them how to train rescue dogs as service dogs for the wounded and injured Veteran.
"Bark for Your Brew" is a 21-and-over event. Tickets are $25 each and admission includes entry to the tasting, sampling tickets and a ticket for the RiverDogs Dog Day baseball game for you and your pet.
