Beloit Sky Carp News Release
Beloit, WI- Beloit Snappers pulled out a 9-2 win Thursday afternoon against the Cedar Rapids Kernels with homers from Eddie Rosario and Drew Leachman.
The ballgame started with a leadoff walk to Kevin Moesquit from starting pitcher, AJ Achter. Moesquit then advanced to third on an overthrow to first base by Achter. Moesquit went on to score the first run of the game on a wild pitch by Achter. Kaleb Cowart doubled to follow the run. Cowart later scored on a sac fly by Frazier Hall.
Achter settled down after the first inning, going five innings allowing just two hits and two runs, while striking out five. Achter picked up his first win as a starter with the Snappers.
The Snappers had a four run bottom of the first that started with a leadoff walk for Wang-Wei Lin off Kernels' starter, Cam Bedrosian. J.D. Williams then singled, advancing Lin. After a wild pitch to Miguel Sano, both Williams and Lin advanced. Sano was walked to load the bases for Adam Bryant, who hit an RBI single scoring Lin and Williams tying up the game 2-2.
