
Hawks Drop Second Straight Versus TinCaps

SOUTH BEND, INDIANA - Roidany Aguila recorded three hits and knocked in a pair Thursday as the South Bend
Silver Hawks (24-23) lost to the Fort Wayne TinCaps 14-8 in front of 3,078 fans at Coveleski Stadium. The Silver
Hawks have dropped two in a row against the TinCaps and will look to salvage the final game of the series on
Friday.
The TinCaps jumped out to an 8-0 second-inning lead. The Silver Hawks pulled to within 8-5 in the fourth inning
but the deficit twice swelled back to eight runs. The TinCaps led 13-5 and 14-6 before winning the game by six.
Yordany Ramirez (1-0) snagged his first win for Fort Wayne, throwing two scoreless innings out of the bullpen.
Right-hander Blake Perry (0-1) was saddled with the loss, allowing eight runs - six earned - on three hits over
just one inning. The right-hander issued four walks while the Silver Hawks pitching staff matched a season-high
with nine free passes.
Perry allowed five runs in the first inning, including a grand slam from Austin Hedges. The TinCaps scored three
more runs in the second inning - Perry started the inning but did not record an out.
Ender Inciarte put the Silver Hawks on the board in the second inning with a two-out, two-RBI double to left-center
field. The Silver Hawks cut the margin to three in the fourth inning - Chris Ellison laced an RBI single before
scoring on Tom Belza's two-RBI double along the left field line.
The TinCaps began to pull away with a three-run sixth inning that included a long, two-run home run from Lee Orr.
Donavan Tate singled in a run in a two-run seventh inning and Kyle Gaedel singled in a run in the eighth inning to
give the TinCaps a season-high 14 runs.
Aguila finished 3-for-4 with a walk, a double and two RBIs. Ryan Court, Ellison and Belza each recorded two hits for
South Bend. Kyle Gaedele and Travis Whitmore each notched three hits for Fort Wayne.
The Silver Hawks and TinCaps scored 22 combined runs, matching the most runs scored in a Silver Hawks game
this season.
Keith Hessler tossed two scoreless innings out of the Silver Hawks bullpen. J.R. Bradley went four innings and
allowed five runs - four earned - on six hits with three strikeouts. Willy Paredes went two innings and allowed
one earned run on one hit.
Left-hander Frank Garces started for the TinCaps and got a no-decision, surrendering five runs - four earned - on
eight hits over four innings.
The Silver Hawks and TinCaps play the final game of a three-game series Friday night at Coveleski Stadium. First
pitch is slated for 7:35 p.m. EST. Right-hander Archie Bradley (6-1, 2.80) starts for South Bend and he will be
