Grand Junction Jackalopes News Release

Grand Junction dropped their second straight and the series on Tuesday as they fell to Ogden 11-4 at Lindquist Field.

The Raptors started off with a bang and tagged Rockies' starter Mike Ruff for two in the first thanks to a two-run home run from Brandon Lewis.

Turner Brown highlighted the third inning for GJ as he blasted his first professional home run, a solo bomb to right field, to get his team on the board trailing 2-1.

However, the Raptors would quickly respond in their half of the inning as Andrew Shaps launched a two-run homer and Ramon Rodriguez brought in Jimmy Titus on a sac fly making it 5-1.

The Rockies kept the offense alive by scoring one in the fourth on a Todd Isaacs double-play, the fifth on Cristopher Navarro's RBI single, and the seventh on Christian Koss's run scoring knock, but each time allowed an Ogden response later in the inning.

When the dust settled, Ruff absorbed his first loss of the season after lasting just three innings and allowing five runs with the win going to Kevin Malisheski as he improved to 5-2 after pitching six.

Anderson Amarista is scheduled to start for Grand Junction in game three tomorrow with Jeronimo Castro toeing the rubber for Ogden.
