Frisco RoughRiders News Release
Derek Holland (2-0) allowed just one run in six innings of work and Dustin Majewski drove in five runs as the Frisco RoughRiders (77-49) earned the series sweep of the Northwest Arkansas Naturals (65-61) with a 6-1 victory Monday night at Dr Pepper Ballpark.
In just his second Double-A start, Holland continued to cement his status as one of the top left-handed pitching prospects in baseball as he allowed just one run on three hits while striking out seven. In his Double-A debut on Wednesday night, Holland struck out 10 in eight innings against Tulsa.
Holland has now combined to go 12-1 between Clinton, Bakersfield, and Frisco.
Majewski supplied plenty of offense for the RoughRiders going 2-for-4 with a triple, his seventh home run, and five RBI.
Rehabbing Hank Blalock collected a pair of hits and runs scored while Jose Vallejo went 3-for-3 with two runs scored.
The RoughRiders will start a seven game road trip Tuesday night in San Antonio. Neftali Feliz (2-2, 3.56) will take the hill for the Riders opposite San Antonio's Manny Ayala (1-0, 2.25) at 7 p.m.
