Holiday's 28 Not Enough in Loss

SANTA CRUZ, California, March 25, 2013 - Justin Holiday scored 28 points, making 6-of-7 three-pointers, but the Idaho Stampede lost to the Santa Cruz Warriors 89-84. Idaho (15-30) as a team went 12-of-26 (46.2 percent) from behind the three-point line, but shot just 36.3 from the field as a whole.
The Stampede led by as many as 13, but attempted just 18 free throws and committed 25 turnovers in the loss, scoring just 16 points in the pivotal third quarter. Coby Karl had 18 points and eight assists, but the bench shot just 7-of-29.
Jeremy Tyler scored 22 points for Santa Cruz (31-13) and the team made 25-of-28 free throws, while out-rebounding Idaho 45-36. Cameron Jones had 16 points, Stefhon Hannah added 13, Hilton Armstrong had 11 and Travis Leslie finished with 10 points and seven rebounds. The Warriors' bigs dominated the paint, outscoring Idaho 48-22 in points in the key, with eight total blocked shots to just two for Idaho.
