
Holder Promoted as Yankees Alter RiverDogs Roster

CHARLESTON, S.C.- The New York Yankees have announced the following minor league roster moves affecting the RiverDogs roster:
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â INF Kyle Holder- promoted from Charleston to High-A Tampa
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â INF Miguel Flames- transferred Extended Spring Training to Charleston
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â OF Matt McPhearson- reinstated from Charleston 7-Day Disabled List
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â OF Carlos Vidal- Transferred Charleston to Extended Spring Training
Holder, 24, appeared in eight games with the RiverDogs this year after starting the season on Double-A Trenton's disabled list. The former 30th overall pick went 6-for-21 (.286) before garnering promotion. The San Diego native spent all of the 2016 season with the RiverDogs, batting .290/.323/.347 with a home run in 88 games before spending his second full-season with High-A Tampa.
Flames, 20, will make his season debut after appearing in 53 games with the rookie-level GCL Yankees West last year, batting .247 (47-for-190) with 25 RBI and splitting time between both corner infield positions. He is the seventh position player and tenth RiverDog currently on the 25-man roster overall aged 20 or younger. The Venezuela native was rated the No. 16 prospect from the 2014 international signing period by Baseball America.
McPhearson rejoins the RiverDogs after being placed on the disabled list after an outfield collision with teammate Frederick Cuevas on April 18 at The Joe. He was picked up as a minor league free agent by the Yankees at the beginning of the season and went 2-for-7 in three games before the DL stint.
Vidal, 22, went 6-for-35 in 12 games with the RiverDogs before being reassigned.
The RiverDogs (24-28) continues their six-day homestand, next welcoming in the Delmarva Shorebirds, the Class A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, for a three-game series to finish out the weekend at The Joe. Friday night's 7:05 p.m. start will be broadcast on WTMA 1250 AM and online streaming at riverdogs.com and the RiverDogs TuneIn radio station.
