Abbotsford Heat News Release

ROCKFORD ILL - The Rockford Ice Hogs scored two goals in each of the first two periods to douse the Abbotsford Heat in Illinois tonight by the score of 5-1.

The Hogs fore-check was able to run wild this evening, as three of the first four Hog goals came directly off the Rockford fore-check. Mark Cullen and Evan Brophey scored in the first period, while Vancouver's Bracken Kearns and Ryan Flinn added goals in the second to make the score 4-0 after 40 minutes.

After Jack Skille made the score 5-0 Hogs, Riley Armstrong was able to break the shutout of Hogs goalie Joe Fallon with a third period power play goal.

The Heat move to 2-1 on their four game road trip and will travel to Toronto to wrap up their four game road trip on Tuesday night.
