TORONTO - D Maxim Noreau netted the overtime game-winner as the Houston Aeros (12-10-1-1) defeated the Toronto Marlies (10-7-2-2) 2-1 Saturday in front of 3,907 at Ricoh Coliseum. C Chad Rau scored the lone regulation goal and D Clayton Stoner added two assists for Houston, which finished a three-game road trip 2-0-0-1. G Wade Dubielewicz (3-7-0) made 19 saves in the victory while G Adam Munro (2-3-1) saved 19 of 21 shots faced in the loss.

The Aeros squandered three power play opportunities and only had five shots on goal en route to a scoreless opening frame. Rau got Houston on the board at the 13:45 mark of the second period when he sent a slap shot over the glove of Munro from the top of the right circle; RW Jean-Michel Daoust and Stoner were credited with the helpers. Daoust extended his point streak to three games with the assist.

The Marlies tied the game 7:33 into the third period off the stick of C Darryl Boyce. LW Viktor Stalberg found Boyce alone in front of the crease off a faceoff from the right circle. Each club would be held scoreless through the remainder of regulation sending the game to overtime.

Noreau would end the game 1:20 into the extra session when Stoner found his fellow defenseman coming off a late line change. Noreau would send a wrister on net that beat Munro glove side to seal it for Houston.

Each team finished the game with 21 shots on goal. The Aeros' man advantage was 0-for-4 on the night while their penalty kill went a perfect 2-for-2. The Aeros improved to 2-1 in overtime games this season with the win.

Houston returns home Thursday to host the San Antonio Rampage, 11:05 a.m. at Toyota Center. For more information call (713) 974-PUCK (7825). Listen to the game exclusively on ahllive.com. Follow the in-game blog at zamchron.com.
