Hobbins Signs Amateur Agreement with Idaho

(Boise, ID) - Head coach and director of hockey operations Hardy Sauter announced Friday morning that the Idaho Steelheads have signed forward Tyson Hobbins to an Amateur Tryout Agreement (ATO) and released forward Kyle Reed.

Hobbins, 23, just concluded his college career at Lake Superior State, where he was a teammate of recently-signed Chad Nehring. In 108 games with the Lakers, Hobbins had 23 points and 68 penalty minutes.

He will make his professional debut Friday night at Qwest Arena when the Steelheads host the Ontario Reign. He'll wear jersey no. 18.

Reed appeared in four games with the Steelheads, picking up one assist, after completing his college career at Ohio State.

"Pink in the Rink" Week is here - the Idaho Steelheads will host the Ontario Reign on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday night at Qwest Arena. The team will be wearing specially-themed pink jerseys that will be auctioned off to raise money for St. Luke's Mountain States Tumor Institute.
