North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays announced today that the team will be inducting Julie Thoennes into Stingrays Hall of Fame on Sunday, March 27 at the North Charleston Coliseum during the first intermission of the Stingrays game against the Greenville Road Warriors at 4:00 p.m. as a part of The Post and Courier Hall of Fame Night and Fan Appreciation Night.

"Julie's loyalty to this organization and team is remarkable," said Stingrays President Rob Concannon. "Her knowledge and expertise cannot be matched. She is the nicest and most genuine person you will ever meet. Personally, she has helped me with my transition into this position. Without Julie, the Stingrays would not be one of the most successful organizations in the ECHL."

Thoennes is currently in her 18 season with the Stingrays and is the only member of the organization that has been with the club since its inception in 1993. A member of all three Kelly Cup championship teams (1997, 2001, and 2009), Thoennes handles accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and the day-to-day operations of the front office. She also assists the Hockey Operations department with player operations including workers' compensation and immigration. Thoennes currently resides in Summerville, SC with her husband Larry and has three sons: Chasen, Charles and Greg.

"Julie is an invaluable member of the Stingrays organization," said Stingrays Head Coach Cail MacLean. "From a Hockey Operations point of view, she has always been the one that has the answers and makes things happen. She wears many hats and has a heavy workload, yet manages to make it all look easy. We are very proud of Julie and happy to see her dedication recognized in the Stingrays Hall of Fame."

Thoennes joins Jason Fitzsimmons, Jerry Zucker, Brett Marietti, Dave Seitz, Ed Courtenay, Kirk Daubenspeck, Concan-non, Rick Vaive, Mark Bavis and Brad Dexter in Stingrays Hockey Hall of Fame.
