Hitmen Trade Sean Tschigerl to Hurricanes

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen have traded forward Sean Tschigerl to the Lethbridge Hurricanes in exchange for a second and third round pick in 2025 WHL Prospects Draft.

"We have seen Sean grow as a player and person as part of the Hitmen organization since he was 15 years old." said Calgary Hitmen Vice President Mike Moore. "He has had a significant impact as a player and leader on our team and in the community over his five years with us. We are proud of Sean and know that he will continue to grow and have a positive impact in Lethbridge as he completes his WHL career."

"Sean is a character person and player and has demonstrated this through his commitment and exemplary representation of the Hitmen organization" said General Manager Garry Davidson "These picks are part of a larger foundation as we build for the future."

Tschigerl was drafted by the Hitmen fourth overall in the 2018 WHL Prospects Draft and was a fifth-round selection of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. The forward went on to play 246 games across five seasons with the Hitmen recording 193 points (87g, 106a).

The Hitmen continue the 2023-24 campaign Friday at home at the Scotiabank Saddledome vs the Spokane Chiefs for a 12:00 p.m. start.
