
Hitmen to open WHL Regular Season Friday

CALGARY HITMEN NEWS AND NOTES
PRE-SEASON IN THE BOOKS: The Hitmen completed their five game pre-season schedule with a record of 3-0-0-2. Overage forward Cody Gross (grawss) led all Hitmen with eight points (4g 4a) while Austin Madaisky (2g 4a) had six points and Matt MacKenzie (2g 3a) five.
NHL CAMPS: Only three of the eight Hitmen invited to NHL Training Camps have returned. Rigby Burgart (San Jose) and Ryan Kerr (Washington) were sent back late last week from free agent try-outs while Ian Schultz (St. Louis) was returned by the Blues on the weekend. There are still five Hitmen at NHL Camps; Joel Broda (Washington), Kris Foucault (Minnesota), Martin Jones (Los Angeles), Brandon Kozun (Los Angeles) and Michael Stone (Phoenix).
CALGARY REAL ESTATE NEWS HOME OPENER: The Hitmen will play their first three regular season games on the road before the Calgary Real Estate News home opener on Sunday, September 27th at the Pengrowth Saddledome. Game time is 2:00 p.m. The matinee will begin with the raising of three championship banners from the 2008-09 season. The annual game worn jersey silent auction will also be held on the concourse. Fans can bid on the white jerseys from the 2008-09 season with all proceeds to the Hitmen Education Fund. The home opener will also give fans their first chance to see the Hitmen in their newly designed RBK Edge Jerseys. Tickets to the home opener are on sale now!
