
Hitmen Leave Road with 5-2 Victory over Broncos

The Calgary Hitmen completed the sweep of a two-game road trip with a 5-2 win over the Swift Current Broncos on Friday night at Innovation Credit Union i-plex.
The line of Sean Tschigerl, Riley Fiddler-Schultz and Zak Funk led the way combining for eight points. Tschigerl notched a pair of goals and added an assist while Fiddler-Schultz recorded a goal and two assists and Funk chipped in a pair of helpers.
All five Hitmen markers were scored at even strength with David Adaszynski and Blake Allan also notching singles. Caleb Wyrostok and Josh Filmon lit the lamp for the home side.
Calgary, which outshot Swift Current 38-20, built period leads of 2-0 and 5-0. They have now fired 229 shots on goal through the first six games of the season.
With the victory the Hitmen improve to 3-3 while the Broncos drop to 2-5-2.
Calgary, which opened the road trip with a 2-0 win in Red Deer last Saturday, will now return home to host the Brandon Wheat Kings on Sunday, Oct. 24 in a 4:00 p.m. start at Scotiabank Saddledome.
It will be another Sunday Funday at the 'Dome featuring the Hitmen Fun Zone (located in section 226). Sunday Funday offers include "Farley's Family Feast" featuring special $2 prices for cotton candy, water, pop, hot dogs and popcorn. Hitmen Hockey Happy Hour, offering additional $5 items, will be available throughout the entirety of the game.
The Hitmen will also welcome Winnipeg (Oct. 27), Red Deer (Oct. 31) and Edmonton (Nov. 5) during their four-game homestand.
