Pats Host the Blades in First of Home-And-Home Set

Regina, Sask. - The Regina Pats (2-5-0) host the Saskatoon Baldes (4-1-1) in the first game of a home-and-home set at the Brandt Centre at 7:00 p.m.

The Pats are coming off back-t0- back losses last weekend to the Winnipeg ICE, losing 4-2 on home ice on Friday, followed by a 6-3 loss at the Wayne Fleming Arena on Saturday.

On Saturday, the Pats were tied 2-2 after one and trailed 4-3 after two, giving up two unanswered goals in the third, leading to their fifth straight loss, and third against the ICE. Regina outshot Winnipeg 16-7 in the first and Tanner Howe scored his first while Logan Nijhoff and Cole Dubinsky tallied their second goals of the season. Drew Sim made his first start between the pipes, facing a career high 31 shots, making a career high 25 saves in the loss.

THE BLADES

The Blades come into tonight's matchup sitting second in the Eastern Division and tied for third in the WHL with nine points, and a 4-1-1 record. The Blades have won their last two games and are coming off a 2-0-1 week, defeating Medicine Hat 4-0 and Moose Jaw 4-3 after losing in overtime to Brandon, 5-4. They have now recorded at least a point in five straight games since their 7-1 opening night loss to Moose Jaw. Former Pats' draft pick Tristen Robbins was named the WHL Week 3 Player of the Week, scoring two goals and six assists in three games. He is currently tied for first in the WHL in scoring with 13 points, while his 10 assists rank first. Goaltender Nolan Maier broke the Blades franchise record for shutouts in a career, recording his 10th on Friday against the Tigers. He is also 26 wins away from setting the WHL's all-time record for most wins by a goaltender in their career.

ranks tied for fourth...the Calgary, AB, native also ranks tied for third among defencemen in power play points with four.

5: Straight losses for the Regina Pats is the longest losing-streak since Febuary 23 - March 13 of the 2018-19 season, where they lost seven

straight games...over this recent stretch, the Pats have been outscored 22-to-11 for a -11 goal differential.

5: Consecutive games with a point (2G-5A) for Pats forward Cole Dubinsky is the longest point-streak by a Pat' this season and longest of his

career...four of his seven points this season have come on the power play (1PPG-3PPA)...his 1.13 PTS/G and seven points leads the Pats roster.
