Game #7 Preview: Blades at Pats
October 22, 2021 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Saskatoon Blades News Release
The Saskatoon Blades and the Regina Pats collide for the first time since the 2021 Hub Season, opening a home-and-home series at the Brandt Centre.
This is the first of six contests between these two this season. They'll reconvene at SaskTel Centre on Sunday - budding superstar Connor Bedard's first appearance in Saskatoon since beginning his junior hockey career.
The Blades enter the game coming off back-to-back wins last weekend; first topping the Medicine Hat Tigers 4-0 at home last Friday, led by Nolan Maier's franchise-record 10th shutout, and followed by a 4-3 win in Moose Jaw on Saturday. That victory saw the Blades go an impressive 3-for-4 on the powerplay and 5-for-5 on the penalty kill.
Who to Watch
Alternate captain Tristen Robins is the reigning WHL Player of the Week after notching eight points over the last three games. The San Jose Sharks prospect leads the league in scoring with 13 points (3G-10A), having collected multi-point performances in all five games played.

Import forwards Moritz Elias and Egor Sidorov are beginning to find their groove, notching their first career goals last week. Belarusian forward Sidorov leads the team in rookie scoring with four points (2G-2A) and enters tonight's contest scoring in back-to-back games.
