Jakob Stukel named Calgary Hitmen 2017-18 Player of the Year

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen Hockey Club handed out its player awards in a special on-ice ceremony ahead of Sunday's season finale at the Scotiabank Saddledome, honouring the team's best from the 2017-18 Western Hockey League regular season.
Forward Jakob Stukel received the prestigious Player of the Year and Leading Scorer awards. The 20-year-old forward from Surrey, BC, tallied a team-high 64 points, including a career-high 37 goals.
Nick Schneider and Tristen Nielsen joined Stukel as double award winners with Schneider taking home the Jr Hitmen Players' Choice Award and Edward Jones 3 Star Selection trophy while Nielsen was named Hitmen Booster Club Fan Favourite and Humanitarian.
The pre-game ceremony also recognized 16 billet families and the three graduating 20-year-olds in Conner Chaulk, Nick Schneider and Jakob Stukel.
