Victoria, BC - The Victoria Royals were upended up by the Everett Silvertips 8-1 on Saturday night at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre to conclude their 2017-18 regular season.

Graduation - Tonight's game was the final regular season contest for Victoria's 20-year old players Tyler Soy, Chaz Reddekopp and Kade Jensen. Soy and Reddekopp spent their entire junior careers with the Royals and played in 322 and 279 games respectively. Jensen meanwhile, took part in in 309 games split between Victoria (32), the Brandon Wheat Kings (57), the Swift Current Broncos (110) and the Lethbridge Hurricanes (110).
Potent Powerplay - With a goal tonight, the Royals' powerplay at the home ranks atop the WHL standings this season. Victoria leads the league with a man-advantage percentage of 29.4% (52/177) on home ice, while their 52 powerplay goals at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre also ranks first in the WHL.
Island Kid - Silvertips' forward Patrick Bajkov played close to home in tonight's game. Bajkov is a native of Nanaimo, BC and played Major Midget with the North Island Silvertips of the British Columbia Major Midget League during the 2012-13 season.
Awards Ceremony - The Royals' seventh annual Awards Ceremony will take place tomorrow afternoon at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre. The event will commence at 3:00 p.m. with a mix and mingle available for guests, players and staff in attendance. The awards portion of the event will begin at 4:00 p.m.
Regular Season Finale - The Royals will begin Round 1 of the 2018 WHL Playoffs on Friday, March 23rd and Saturday, March 24th when they host the Vancouver Giants.
