Calgary Hitmen News Release
Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen Foundation is proud to once again partner with WEB Consulting Ltd. in support of Pucks for Paws. The campaign, now entering its seventh season, raises funds and awareness for the Four Feet Companion Foundation, a local volunteer-run agency that provides financial grants to registered animal charities in Calgary and area.
The program sees both the Hitmen Foundation and WEB Consulting Ltd. direct $10 to the cause for every regular season point recorded by forward Riley Stotts. In addition, WEB Consulting Ltd. will contribute $10 per point to Southwood Veterinary Hospital for animal owners unable to afford veterinary care.
On Friday, Dec. 14, when the Hitmen host the Kelowna Rockets, fans will have an opportunity to learn more about responsible pet guardianship through in-game activations and by visiting canine companions at the Pucks for Paws concourse display located behind section 223 at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
During the first intermission that day, the Hitmen will also host the 2nd Annual World Famous Wiener Dog Race presented by Chasin' Tails Dog Care Center. Thirty dogs will race from the goal line to the centre-ice redline. Chasin' Tails Dog Car Center will then award prizes for first place, best dressed dog and best dressed handlers.
Stotts, who has 10 points in 14 games this season, will be looking to add to his point total when Calgary opens a season-high seven game road trip against the Kootenay ICE on Friday, Nov. 16 in Cranbrook. The swing continues the following night on Saturday, Nov. 17 in Spokane for the start of a U.S. Division tour.
The trip will also see Calgary face Everett (Nov. 20), Portland (Nov. 21), Seattle (Nov. 23) and Tri-City (Nov. 24) before wrapping up in Red Deer on Nov. 30.
The Hitmen won't be back in the "Dome until Saturday, Dec. 1 against the Edmonton Oil Kings.
