Calgary, AB - Josh Williams and Carter Souch tallied four points each to lift the Edmonton Oil Kings to an 8-3 win over the Calgary Hitmen on Friday night at Seven Chiefs Sportsplex on Tsuut'ina Nation.
Williams netted a hat-trick and added an assist while Souch notched a goal and three assists for the Central Division leading Oil Kings who improve to 18-1-0-1. Matthew Robertson, Ethan Cap, Jalen Luypen and Caleb Reimer also scored for Edmonton which built period leads of 3-2 and 4-2.
Adam Kydd, Riley Stotts and Sean Tschigerl replied for the Hitmen as Tschigerl extended his career-high point scoring streak to 10 games.
Edmonton outshot Calgary 37-25 and also won the special teams battle going 3-7 on the power play while killing two of the three Hitmen chances.
Calgary, 9-8-2-0, will now enjoy a one day break before their final home game of the 2021 season on Sunday, May 2 against the Red Deer Rebels. It's a 4:00 p.m. start at Seven Chiefs Sportsplex.
