Calgary, AB - Collin Bowman broke a 1-1 tie with a power play goal early in the third period to give the Kelowna Rockets a 2-1 win in Calgary over the Hitmen Saturday night.
The win snapped Calgary's season high 12 game winning streak in what was their last regular season home game.
It was scoreless after one period before the two teams exchanged second period goals. Cody Almond scored for Kelowna, Tomas Karpov for Calgary.
The Hitmen outshot the Rockets 35-17 but Kelowna goalie Mark Guggenberger made 34 saves in a third star performance.
The loss drops the Hitmen record to 55-8-3-1. They still lead the Western Hockey League Standings with 114 points sitting four points ahead of the Vancouver Giants for first place overall.
Calgary will now hit the road on a regular season ending five game road trip that opens Tuesday in Prince George against the Cougars.
