Vancouver Giants News Release
EVERETT WA - The Vancouver Giants shutout the Everett Silvertips for the third time at the Comcast Arena this season, a 3-0 victory that clinches the Western Conference for the Giants and assures them of home ice advantage through the first three rounds of the WHL Playoffs.
Andrej Kudrna, Garry Nunn and Casey Pierro-Zabotel scored the goals for Vancouver while Jamie Tucker turned aside 24 shots for his 5th shutout of the season.
With the win, the Giants move to 53-7-1-3 for 110 points through 64 games. Tri City has just seven games left and is mathematically unable to catch Vancouver for the Western Conference title.
Vancouver wraps up their eight games in ten days junket on Sunday afternoon against the Chilliwack Bruins. You can catch all the WHITE SPOT GIANTS HOCKEY action on AM 650, with the pregame show at 430 pm. Dave Sheldon and Bill Wilms will have the call of the game at 5 pm from Prospera Centre.
