Portland Winterhawks News Release
Adam Hughesman scored two third period goals and the Tri City Americans held off the Portland Winter Hawks by a score of 5-3 on Sunday night at the Toyota Center in Kennewick.
Portland got two goals from Luke Walker, one in the first period and one in the third, each set up by Chris Francis. Portland's other goal came from rookie defenseman Daniel Johnston late in the second period.
Jason Reese, Brennan Shinnimin and Mitch Fadden had goals for Tri City while Taylor Procyshen had two assists.
Kurtis Mucha stopped 38 of 43 shots for Portland while Brett Martyniuk handled 27 of 30 for Tri City.
On special teams, Portland finished 1 for 4 on the power play while Tri City went 2 for 5.
Next up, the Hawks return home to take on the Everett Silvertips at 7:00 on Tuesday night at the Memorial Coliseum.
