The Tri-City Americans scored three times in the second period including twice on the power play to pick up a 5-2 win over the Spokane Chiefs on Saturday night in the Spokane Arena. The Americans won for the first time in Spokane as the road team has picked up victories just twice in the 10 game season series.
Tri-City extended their lead to 10 points in the U.S. Division as they went 3-6 on the power play while holding the Chiefs to a 1-8 effort.
Mitch Fadden and Kruise Reddick both scored twice for the Americans while Tyler Johnson had a goal and assist for the Chiefs.
Fadden scored a power play goal at 11:29 of give the Americans a 1-0 lead. Tyler Johnson scored 24th of the year to tie the game at one at 16:06. Reddick's first of the night gave the Americans a 2-1 lead through the first period.
The Americans used a three minute span in the second to pull away from Spokane with Tyler Schmidt's goal on the two-man advantage and Fadden's second of the night. Reddick finished the scoring for the Americans. The goals came at 10:39, 12:20 and 13:42.
Drayson Bowman scored his 40th of the year at 18:37 with the Chiefs on the power play.
