Nanton, AB - The Calgary Hitmen defeated the Red Deer Rebels 4-2 Friday evening at the Tom Hornecker Recreation Centre in Nanton, Alberta.
Josh Thrower led the Hitmen with one goal and an assist, while Brett Brooks, Pavel Padakin and Chase Lang also scored in the win.
Evan Johnson made 36 saves for the Hitmen as Calgary improves to a pre-season record of 3-1.
The Hitmen wrap up the 2013 WHL pre-season when Calgary travels to Coleman, Alberta for a pair of games at the fifth annual Thunder Challenge Tournament. The Hitmen open the weekend on Saturday, September 14 against the Lethbridge Hurricanes, before facing the Kootenay Ice Sunday afternoon.
