HILDEBRAND SHINES IN OT LOSS TO RUSH

November 28, 2017 - ECHL (ECHL)
Tulsa Oilers News Release

RAPID CITY, SD - The Rapid City Rush edged the Tulsa Oilers 2-1 in overtime Saturday in a goaltender's dual at Rushmore Plaza Civic Center in the third and final game of the week between the two teams.

The Rush scored the game's first goal late in the opening period when Peter Sivak skated into the slot and fired a wrist shot past the blocker of Oilers goaltender Jake Hildebrand. Hildebrand stopped 15 Rapid City shots in the frame, as the Rush outshot Tulsa 16-11.

The goaltenders stole the show again in the second period until late, when Oilers captain Adam Pleskach snuck a shot under the crossbar from the slot to tie the game at 1-1 with 12.4 seconds left in the frame. The goal came on the Oilers third man-advantage, breaking Tulsa out of its power play slump, which spanned 12-straight opportunities this week.

After the teams skated through a scoreless third period, the Oilers had a late power play carry into overtime, but could not convert. Matt Caito provided the heroics for Rapid City with 23 seconds left in the extra period, as the Rush skate away with two points, leaving the Oilers with one in the overtime loss. Hildebrand stopped 42 shots for Tulsa, while Rush goalie Adam Vay stopped 36 in the win.

Tulsa continues on its season-long road trip to Boise, Idaho to face-off against the Steelheads three times next week at CenturyLink Arena. Catch all the action Wednesday night at 7:50pm CT on www.tulsaoilers.com, The Sports Animal Radio Network (99.9FM/1550AM), or ECHL.TV.
