OILERS HEAD TO BOISE FOR FINAL STRETCH OF ROAD TRIP

Tulsa finishes three-week road trip with a trio of games against the Steelheads.

Wednesday, Nov. 22 - Rapid City 5, Tulsa 2 (Rushmore Plaza Civic Center - Rapid City, SD)

After Rapid City opened the scoring, Kale Kessy tied the game for Tulsa by the halfway point of the first period. The Rush went on to score four unanswered goals: one more in the opening frame, two in the second period, and a final tally early in the third to lead 5-1. Charlie Sampair brought the Oilers back to within three, but Storm Phaneuf was solid in goal in preserving the win for the Rush in the first meeting of three last week.

Goaltenders Adam Vay for the Rush and Jake Hildebrand for the Oilers stole the show in the second match-up of the week until late in the second period, when Alex Guptill gave Rapid City the lead before the second break. However, Tulsa came back in the third period thanks to goals from Conner Bleackley in the opening minute, Charlie Sampair with 3:30 to play, and Dylan Hubbs into an empty net to win 3-1, forcing the rubber match Saturday.

In the final game of the week between the two Mountain Division rivals, Peter Sivak gave Rapid City a 1-0 lead with the only goal of the opening stanza. Tulsa captain Adam Pleskach tied the score on a power play with just 12.4 seconds left in the second period, while Adam Vay and Jake Hildebrand again for their teams, as overtime was needed. In the extra period, Matt Caito rang a shot off of the crossbar and in with 23 seconds left to win the game for the Rush.
