SALISBURY, MD - Hickory completed a three game sweep of the Shorebirds on Friday night at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium by silencing the Shorebirds' bats. The Shorebirds fell 4-0 and were shut out for the fourth time in six contests.

Cristian Alvarado (7-7) took his third consecutive loss by allowing three runs on six hits over five innings. Alvarado struck out six and didn't walk anyone. Jesus Liranzo pitched out of a jam in the top of the sixth and lowered his team-leading ERA to 1.10 over 15 appearances.

Offensively, the Shorebirds (53-44, 11-17) were limited to six singles. Natanael Delgado had the only multi-hit game, finishing 2-for-4. Delmarva only got runners into scoring position twice in the contest and failed to produce more than one hit in any of their nine offensive innings.

Erik Swanson (6-4) dominated over 5.2 innings for Hickory (53-45, 15-13). He fanned eight and walked one, scattering four hits along the way. Jason Richman and Omarlin Lopez held on for Hickory's second shut out win of the series.

The Shorebirds host the Kannapolis Intimidators for four games, beginning Saturday night at 7:05 pm. Brendan Gulick will have the play-by-play live on Fox Sports AM 960 and online at theshorebirds.com.
