Altoona Curve News Release
MANCHESTER, NH - Five Altoona Curve players enjoyed multi-hit games and the top four hitters in the lineup went a combined 9-for-20 as the Curve grabbed another series victory taking the rubber match of a three-game stanza 6-3 against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (AA - Toronto Blue Jays) on Sunday afternoon at Merchantsauto.com Stadium.
Gorkys Hernandez, Shelby Ford, Pedro Alvarez and Miles Durham were the 1-4 hitters in the Altoona lineup and also came through with 3 RBIs, and five runs scored. Alvarez led the charge as he turned in the best offensive performance going 4-for-5.
On the mound, Yoslan Herrera remains unbeaten at a perfect 9-0. In his second-longest outing of the season, Herrera dealt 6.1 innings of eight-hit, two-run baseball. Herrera is just three wins away from reaching third-place all-time in career wins in Altoona Curve history. Currently Herrera has 21 career victories and would need to reach 24 to tie Matt Peterson, John Grabow and Brian O'Connor for third all-time.
With the victory fans have saved an additional dollar off Grandstand and Terrace Level seats for the Thursday, August 13 game versus the Portland Sea Dogs. Grandstand tickets will cost just $3 while Terrace level seats will cost just $5 as part of the team's unique Road to Savings promotion.
