Portland Sea Dogs News Release
(Portland, ME) - RHP Jarod Plummer (8-6) retired 17 of 19 batters faced over 6 scoreless frames, leading the Portland Sea Dogs (56-57) to an 8-2 victory over the Bowie Baysox (60-54) on Sunday afternoon in front of a sellout crowd of 7,368 at Hadlock Field. RF Daniel Nava (2-for-4, 3 RBI) knocked in his first 3 Double-A runs with a 2-run double in the fifth and a run-scoring triple in the seventh. Portland's eighth run was courtesy of a Jimenez's run-scoring 4-6-3 double play ball.
RHP Chris Province relieved Plummer in the seventh inning and surrendered a solo-homer to Bell. In the eighth, LF Dave Krynzel smacked a run-scoring double but Province would wiggle out of a bases loaded jam on a line out and a 6-4-3 double play.
