Hens Rout Bulls 8-3 to Split Series

The Hens' offense fired on all cylinders Tuesday afternoon as they compiled 15 hits in an 8-3 victory over Durham.

Toledo took an early 2-0 lead in the first after a Rob Brantly RBI double led to another run as Brantly scored on a Ryan Strieby groundout. The Hens piled on three more in the second after Brent Dlugach and Ryan Raburn each smacked a solo homerun to make it 5-0.

Durham scored two in the bottom half of the second to cut the lead to 5-2, but the Hens added another run in the third and the fourth to make it 7-2 and close the door on a Durham comeback.

Dlugach was the offensive catalyst for the Hens going 2-for-4 with the homer and three RBI.

Andy Oliver earned the victory after allowing three runs on six hits through 6.2 innings. The Hens bullpen combined for 2.1 innings of two hit ball.

The Hens are off tomorrow before heading to Norwalk to take on the Tide on Thursday at 7 p.m. Adam Wilk is scheduled to open the series on the mound for the Hens.

Game Notes

Six of the Hens nine hitter's had multiple hits on the day.

Eric Patterson stole a base for the Hens fourth stolen base in their last nine games.

Andy Oliver struck out five.
