Hens Return Home to Battle Stiff Competition

On Monday, June 26, the Mud Hens will return to Fifth Third Field, coming off of an eight-game road trip, for a nine-game homestand that brings to town two IL South opponents and one IL West opponent. Norfolk will be in town for three games in two days and Charlotte will be in town for just a two-game set while Indianapolis visits to close out the homestand with a four-game set. Norfolk leads off the homestand on June 26 - June 27. Charlotte visits on June 28 - June 29 and Indianapolis wraps it up June 30 - July 3. This homestand will feature six High School Home Run Derby contests, TEAM Autograph Day, a Patriotic Jersey Auction, Kids Run The Bases, a visit from the Spitball Gang, live music and four post-game fireworks shows.

Monday, June 26 (Norfolk, 1st pitch @ 5:30 pm) - Tonight's double header can be heard live on Sports Radio 1470 AM - The Ticket. Following the game will be the popular High School Home Run Derby featuring Whiteford High School and Monroe St. Mary Catholic Central High School.

Tuesday, June 27 (Norfolk, 1st pitch @ 12:00 pm) - Prior to the game, at 10 am, three Mud Hen players will be speaking to appx. 900 kids about Drug Education. Tuesday also marks the sixth edition of Promedica Testing Tuesday. To keep the sun rays in check, all fans will receive Bullfrog Sun block upon entrance at the gate. Wednesday, June 28 (Charlotte, 1st pitch @ 7:00 pm) - Catch all of the action live on Sports Radio - 1470 AM - The Ticket or BCSN will carry the game on tape delay to be shown at 11:00 pm.

Thursday, June 29 (Charlotte, 1st pitch @ 7:00 pm) - Tonight will feature a visit from the Spitball Gang. Tonight also marks another edition of the High School Home Run Derby, featuring two players from high schools out of Michigan, Bedford High School, and Hudson High School. Friday, June 30 (Indianapolis, 1st pitch @ 7:00 pm) - Tonight will feature a match-up of division rivals. Fans will be able to make a lot of noise as the first 5,000 through the gates will receive Verizon Wireless Thunderstix. Following the game will be another edition of the High School Home Run Derby, featuring two high school players from, Stryker High School, and Erie Mason (MI) High School. Saturday, July 1 (Indianapolis, 1st pitch @ 7:00 pm) - It's German-American Night! Throughout the game, fans can place a bid at the Patriotic Jersey Auction. Tonight also marks another edition of the High School Home Run Derby, featuring three players from local high schools, Blissfield (MI) High School, Eisenhower (MI) Hills High School and Central Catholic High School. Sunday, July 2 (Indianapolis, 1st pitch @ 6:30 pm) - Sunday marks a chance to meet the Mud Hen players and get a few autographs on TEAM Autograph Day before the game from 5:00 - 5:45 pm. Other features throughout the day include a Bullfrog Sun block giveaway, free face painting, and an appearance by the Fricker's Chicken. After the game, kids can Run The Bases, then enjoy the post-game fireworks and yet another edition of the High School Home Run Derby featuring Archbold High School and Waite High School. Monday, July 3 (Indianapolis, 1st pitch @ 7:00 pm) - The final game of the homestand and the day before the celebration of Independence Day will feature fireworks following the game. There also will be another edition of the High School Home Run Derby with contestants from Sylvania Northview High School and Sylvania Southview High School.
