Nick Castellanos homered for the second game in a row, but the Durham Bulls racked up 13 hits to narrowly defeat the Hens in a 9-8 slugfest on Wednesday afternoon.

After Castellanos' homer gave the Hens an early 1-0 lead, the Bulls tagged Shawn Hill for four early runs to take a 4-1 lead. The Hens quickly erased the deficit in the second after John Lindsey homered and Brad Davis blasted his first home run of the season, a two-run shot to tie the game at 4-4.

The Bulls got the best of Hill, tagging him for seven runs (five earned) on 11 hits over five innings. Ramon Garcia also surrendered two runs in two innings of relief in the effort.

Davis and Castellanos led a late charge for the Mud Hens, contributing another combined three RBIs in a four-run eighth inning rally to cut the Bulls lead to one. Brandon Douglas supplied the other run with an RBI single.

The Mud Hens will look to turn the tide in the series tomorrow at 7:05 p.m. in Durham. Pat Misch is scheduled to start for Toledo.
