TODAY'S GAME: The Red Wings and Chiefs play game 2 of their 4-game set on Wednesday night after their 4-hour, 13-inning marathon last night in which the Wings blew a 5-0 lead to lose 8-7. The Red Wings have now lost 2 games in a row and have returned to a season-worse 9 games below .500 -- 9.0 games back of Buffalo in the North Division... The Chiefs, meanwhile, sit at 8-10 in the IL North (4th place; 5.5 GB of BUF) but are still just 3-7 in their last 10 games after starting the year 5-2... After the 4-game set the Wings will return home to open a 4-game series against the first-place Bisons at Frontier Field Saturday-Tuesday.

MORE ABOUT YESTERDAY:

-The Red Wings hit a tied for season-high 3 home runs (4/7 vs. BUF) last night... Snapping an 11-game skid of 2 or fewer extra base hits... Still, the Wings have had only one game where they have more than 3 extra-base hits (4/7 vs BUF).

-The 7 runs scored was the most the Wings have scored since 4/7 vs. BUF -- a 14-game span.

-The Wings blew a 5-run lead after 2.5 innings -- their largest blown lead of the season.

-It was the longest Wings game in terms of both innings (13) and time (4:02) this season

IN NEED OF RELIEF: The Red Wings bullpen has allowed 11 runs over the last 2 games as the relief corps ERA as risen to 7.83 (60 ER/ 69.1 IP) on the year... The Wings have gone to the bullpen 56 times this season and on only 25 occasions the reliever has not allowed a run (45%).

VS. CHIEFS: The Red Wings went just 5-11 against the Chiefs in 2012, their worst mark against any division rival last year... DYNAMIC DEBUT: INF Nate Hanson went 2-for-3 with a 2-run home run in his Triple-A debut for the Red Wings on Tuesday night... He became the 3rd Red Wings player to hit a home run in his Triple-A debut this season, joining Oswaldo Arcia and Chris Colabello who each went deep Opening Day (4/4) @ BUF.

TRIPLE-LESS: The Red Wings are now the only team in all of minor league baseball without a triple after Clinton of the Midwest League recorded their first three-bagger of the season on Monday... The Wings are now just 1 of 3 teams in all of baseball without a triple as the Atlanta Braves and Baltimore Orioles are still in search of their first as well.

-Last season, the Wings were T-5th in the IL with 27 triples... Clete Thomas led the Wings w/ 5 triples last year.

BRING BACK THE D: After committing just 4 errors through the first 12 games of the season, the Wings have now made 10 errors in their last 7 games -- including a season-high 4 last night against Syracuse. The most errors the Wings committed in any game last season was 3.

NO LEADS SAFE IN 'CUSE: The Wings jumped out to a 5-0 lead last night after 2.5 innings, however the Chiefs came all the way back to tie in the 8th before winning in the 13th inning... In their last game (9/2) at Syracuse in 2012, the Red Wings blew a 6-0 first inning lead -- their largest lead relinquished to lose last season.

HOMER FRIENDLY NORTH : After a combined 5 home runs in last night's Red Wings-Chiefs game, all three teams located along the New York State Thruway are tied for the league lead with 18 home runs apiece... In fact, 5 of the top 6 teams in home runs hit so far this season are IL North squads... PAW is 5th with 16 HR and LHV is T-6th with 13 HR.

-The 3 HR hit by the Wings last night snapped a tied for season high 3-game streak without hitting a home run.

ARCIA HOMERS : Former Red Wing, Oswaldo Arcia, hit the first home run of his Major League career on Tuesday in game 1 of a doubleheader against the Miami Marlins... His 3-run shot off RHP Jose Fernandez in the 4th inning turned out to be the game-winning home run... Arcia hit 3 homer runs in 10 games with the Red Wings this season.

-At 21 years, 11 months, 14 days he became the 9th youngest Twins player to homer in a game.. Youngest since Mauer in 2004
